My story

Meet Dustie!Dustie is a gorgeous seven year old German Shepherd who is practically a dire wolf at 108lbs. He's a big boy with a big personality and a whole lot of love and devotion to give ❤️Dustie is still super energetic for his age so will need plenty of physical activity to keep him from getting bored. Long walks, hikes, scent training, things like that would be perfect to keep his body and his mind engaged to keep him from getting cabin fever and going stir crazy. He's a very, VERY good boy but he needs a specific lifestyle and someone who understands the breed and their needs, especially when they're as high energy and excitable as Dustie is. Since Dustie has been with us, we've started to notice that perhaps he wasn't ever socialized with other dogs. We say this because he looks at other dogs like he has no idea what they are and he has no idea what to do with them. He hasn't shown any aggression but can suddenly get shy and will hide behind your legs while peeking out at them. He seems curious, just a little lost. We've been working on socializing him with dogs his size but would still prefer that he be the only dog in the home UNLESS the adopter has breed experience and is comfortable taking on the task themselves. No cats. We cat tested him and he's terrified. Kids 12+ only, please! We don't have any history on him so we don't know if he's ever been around children and we don't really have a way of testing him with them. Breed experience preferred, fenced in yard PREFERRED.
