My story

Pond may not be the first to run up and ask for pets, but this quiet, sensitive boy has a soft heart and a quiet courage that shines when given the chance. Found at the shelter and now adjusting to life in a noisy kennel, Pond has shown he’s calm, tolerant, and incredibly polite, even if he’s still a bit unsure of his surroundings. When outside, Pond prefers to explore the yard at his own pace. He allows gentle pets and gives small, hopeful tail wags, but he’s not one to seek out attention, at least not yet. He’s easy to leash, walks well, and returns to his kennel without hesitation. Like many dogs struggling with the stress of shelter life, Pond has shown signs of anxiety, like chewing blankets or bedding. But this isn’t who he truly is, it’s just a sign he’s overwhelmed and in need of comfort, routine, and understanding. With a patient adopter and a calm home, Pond has every chance to blossom into a loyal, loving companion. He’s not flashy or pushy, but if you’re someone who sees the beauty in a quiet dog with gentle eyes and a story still unfolding, Pond could be the pup for you. Come meet him at ACCT Philly, open daily from 10 am to 6pm VIDEO Playgroup 8/9/25: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLcnvoGYrJkIa6NUKNRaJkUb4bEiNskZ3S Playgroup 8/2: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLcnvoGYrJkIb2PUBow5he5kM_oPpeR2Qr Pond & Max Miller: https://youtube.com/shorts/z3HIKKM_JrA?si=EyNkYHfKvV4kpim1 BEHAVIOR 08/07/2025 staff notes: Reported to be tearing up blankets and chewing on dog beds.
