My story

Meet Arden – The Biscuit-Baking, Back-Climbing Snugglebug Arden is a 1.5-year-old boy with a huge heart and a soft soul. Originally adopted and then returned, Arden is still trying to figure out what went wrong—he’s a little confused and shy, but absolutely worth the wait. Once Arden warms up (and he will), he transforms into a full-on cuddle machine. He loves affection, head pets, and will loudly purr his appreciation. One of Arden’s signature moves is climbing onto your back and going to work kneading biscuits. Yes, he bakes on you. You’ve been warned—and blessed. Personality Highlights: Shy at first, but bonds deeply once comfortable Loud purrer and affectionate cuddle buddy Loves to knead—especially on your back! Feeding Needs: Arden is a bit of a food critic. He eats wet food only (Fancy Feast or Heritage Ranch preferred). He will not eat dry food—and will tell you all about it with a pitiful meow that sounds suspiciously like, “Mommy, are we poor?” Arden is ready for a forever home where he can feel safe, loved, and appreciated for the sweet, silly soul he is. If you’re patient and gentle, you’ll be rewarded with a loyal, loving companion who will never let your back go unbaked. Great with small dogs (even won over a dog that “hated” cats!) Previously did well with other cats Apply to adopt Arden today—and prepare for biscuits. Lots of them. This pet is located in Houston, TX. After you fill out the application, and become an approved adopter, we will schedule a virtual meet and greet with the foster and Arden. After that, we will make arrangements to have the pet transported by van or flown to the Seattle area. Transport costs are included in the adoption fee and there is no additional costs to adopter. The process of arranging the travel and getting the animal here, on average, takes 2-4 weeks, depending on availability of the transporters and your availability to meet them. We understand this process is not as easy as walking into a shelter and immediately adopting a pet, but getting animals out of Houston and the surrounding areas is the only viable chance many of them have, so we appreciate your understanding. We do not accept ANY adoption fees ahead of the pet's arrival, until the pet is with you. We also understand adopting a pet you have not seen in person can be a bit worrisome, especially if other animals are involved. During the adoption process we do our best to convey the personality and allowances of each pet. This is where the foster's involvement is vital. The fosters have the animals often for an extended period of time, and have gotten to know them well. In saying that, not everything is predictable. If things are not what you expect, we have resources on the Seattle side to take the animal back. If possible, we would appreciate, if the situation allows, for you to foster the pet until a new home is found. If that is not possible, we also understand that, and will take them back regardless. This kitty is up to date on vaccinations and is has been spayed or neutered. Arden’s adoption fee is 195.00. Best with adults or older kids due to his shy nature

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Arden, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
