Gustavo

My story

Gustavo came to us from our local animal care and control. He came with 4 other dogs covered in feces, urine and mats for days. Even worse there were 5 more that went to another rescue. All from the same home with a story that is unknown. Gustavo is estimated to be between the ages of 2-3 years old and is absolutely ready for his forever home. Gustavo so far is doing great with potty training. He has been brave on both a leash and in the backyard so with continued practice we know he will be adaptable to either. He loves his crate, it definitely brings him a safe space that he is able to go to if needed or just tired. He seems to do better with smaller dogs, I'm sure that being around dogs your size only and suddenly realizing there are bigger dogs is quite the shock. He does not seem to need a dog though he would do more than fine with a friend who just lounges around with him. He is absolutely a lap dog and loves to be carried. He is currently in a home with children and though there are no concerns, we know he would be more comfortable with easier older children or children who are dog savvy and can respect his space as he comes out of his shell. Gustavo's adoption fee includes his neuter, up to date vaccines and preventatives, heartworm negative and microchip. He is currently being fostered in Chicago and is adoptable anywhere in Chicago (or within a 3 hour radius).
