ATHENA, a regal and beautiful cream-and-gray colored lynxpoint Siamese mix, is a quiet queen with a big heart. Her pale blue eyes seem to stare right into your soul. Athena is a shy girl and prefers to keep to herself most of the day—but when you come in the door, she’ll always greet you with curiosity, ready to check on your comings and goings. Independent and dignified, Athena enjoys her alone time but also appreciates gentle companionship on her terms. She loves being petted on the top of her head and will often “boop” her head into your hand asking for more. Her favorite pastimes include chasing her sparkly pom-pom ball, hunting her leather strand wand toy, and napping in sunlit windows or cozying up on a memory foam cushion under the table. Athena was discovered during a TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) project, when her colony caregiver noticed her unusually sweet and people-aware nature. Wanting her to have the chance at a safe, comfortable indoor life, they worked with our cat rescue to get her into foster care—and she’s been blossoming ever since. Like the true royalty she is, Athena would prefer to be queen of her castle and not have to share her space with other cats. Athena is looking for a calm, cat-savvy, family who will respect her independent nature and appreciate her quiet companionship as she continues to open up to affection. ATHENA has been spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, is negative for FeLV and FIV, and includes a free wellness visit with our vet partners. To meet Athena in foster, submit an adoption application for consideration at CatRescues.org/Adopt or a paper copy available at the store. A volunteer will contact you within 3-5 business days for a possible meet and greet. The $100 adoption fee allows us to continue to provide care and find loving homes for abandoned and neglected cats in our Eugene/Springfield community.
