Betty

My story

Betty is a two year old, 40 lb Red Heeler mix. She is a lovebug who’s mastered the art of being a couch potato, but don’t let her relaxed vibe fool you! She lights up at the mention of a walk and is getting more comfortable exploring the neighborhood with her humans every day. This friendly girl is great with other dogs, making her a great companion for multi-pup households, but she would also do well as an only dog. Due to some understandable food guarding (likely from past food insecurity), she should be fed separately, but she’s otherwise an easygoing and affectionate playmate. Betty enjoys sleeping in her crate in the room with her humans at night and is getting more comfortable with staying in it when they need to leave her for a couple of hours during the day. Her house training is coming along and accidents have been minimized by a regular schedule. Betty is a sweetheart and her foster mom says how exciting it has been to watch her begin to relax and catch on to playing with toys and exploring the yard with the other dogs in her foster home.
