My story

Meet Marina 4 (Candy)! This 1.6-year-old, 51-pound sweetheart is on the shy side, but her gentle spirit shines through once she feels comfortable. Candy is in need of a little TLC and confidence building, but she clearly wants to be near her people and soak up pets and affection. Candy is the sweetest love bug you’ll ever meet. She literally melts into you for affection and would happily spend the day snuggled up with her favorite humans.She has the most tender, expressive face and will happily take treats—enjoying every bite. Candy will thrive with patient adopters who can show her that the world is not such a scary place and help her blossom into the loving companion she’s meant to be.Marina 4 has been lucky enough to go on a few Dog’s Day Out adventures, and she’s proven to be such a fun and easy companion. On her first outing, she went to the park where she enjoyed lots of pets, walked nicely on leash, and even showed off her playful side by enjoying a game of fetch. She also rode calmly in the car, making travel a breeze. On another adventure, she visited a pet store where her favorite part was watching the fish swim around—so curious and sweet! Volunteers describe her as calm, gentle, and truly delightful.Around other dogs, Candy really shines.
