My story

Pawsha Fierce has been through more than any dog ever should. While our transporter was in Compton picking up another dog, a small Spaniel mix darted out of a nearby house and took off up the street. The transporter stopped to help, and her owners came running after her. When they caught up, they told us to take her as well. They explained that she kept getting out, looking for her brother, who had been hit by a car weeks earlier and remained lifeless on the street. They suspected she might also be pregnant. We couldn’t leave her behind. That’s how Pawsha Fierce came to Shelter Hope — scared, covered in fleas, and discarded by the only family she has ever known. Now spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and safe, Pawsha is starting to relax and show her gentle, affectionate nature. She’s one year old, weighs 16 lbs, and loves calm walks and quiet moments with people she trusts. Pawsha is ready for a family who will give her the stability, love, and kindness she’s been missing her whole life. ------ Looking to Adopt? Submit a Rescue Questionnaire! Adoptions can happen quickly so be prepared for our call, only apply for dogs that every family member in the home wants, and wait to apply until you return from your vacation. Please Keep in Mind: Due to high demand, especially for popular dogs, not all applicants will be contacted. Moreover, we may not reach out if we have already approved a family to adopt.
