***FIV+***Meet Nico, a 3 y.o. male kitty! Nico came to FVHA as a surrender.Nico is the sweetest boy with a heart full of love to give. This affectionate lovebug is searching for a forever home where he can finally share the deep connection he craves.Nico is a true sidekick ; the kind who will follow you around, offer cuddles at just the right moment, and make every day brighter just by being there. He adores human company and will happily sprawl out in his kennel, keeping a watchful, loving eye on the world around him (and especially on you). Whether you`re working from home, relaxing on the couch, or simply enjoying a quiet moment, Nico will be right there, reminding you what unconditional love looks like. He’s gentle, loyal, and undeniably charming. He is a very good boy who’s just waiting to become someone’s everything. If you’re ready for a best friend who will stick to your side and fill your heart with joy, Nico is your guy.Nico had a dental cleaning with some tooth extractions. The sutures in the mouth will dissolve naturally over time but should be on soft food only until 8/17. Nico also has some current scabbing around his neck from a large wound that was treated by our dedicated vet team. He also had corrective surgery for a complication involving the eyelids called entropion and will need the sutures removed on 8/19. Nico has been healing up very well from all these issues and it has not dampened his spirit! Speaking of keeping high spirits despite medical struggles, Nico also tested positive for a disease called Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV). Due to this lifelong disease, it is possible that Nico will be more susceptible to acquiring illnesses throughout his life and may require more frequent veterinary visits/treatments. FIV cannot be transmitted to people or other animals but can be transmitted to other cats via bite wounds/scratches. We recommend Nico either be the only cat in the household or adopters go very slow with introductions to other cats. We also suggest any future adopters research this disease prior to adoption to determine if Nico is the right fit for their household. His history with cats and kids is unknown, but our Adoption Team would love to give you the information you need for slow introductions to any resident pets and younger friends. In his previous house, he lived with a small dog.Nico is neutered and has received core vaccinations (feline distemper, rabie
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Nico, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
