My story

Meet Allis (pronounced Alice)! This zippy 8-year-old beauty proves that age is just a number. Allis still has plenty of pep in her step—she loves a good jog, a romp at the park, or playtime with her favorite toys. Her former family shared that she’s a wonderful dog with lots of energy, and they hope her next home will be active enough to keep up with her adventurous spirit. At home, Allis has great manners—she doesn’t get on the furniture, is mostly housetrained, and will let you know when she needs to go outside. She has a blast getting out her wiggles, so a yard or plenty of playtime would make her happiest. Allis is ready to start her next adventure—could it be with you?This big girl is 65lbs and has done well in dog play groups. Like all our adult dogs, Allis will need to meet future canine companions before going home. Our shelter staff will lead their introductions in a safe environment to see if they are compatible. At the main campus, you can bring your dog along when you come for adoptions if you like. Allis was able to go on a DDO recently and here is what they said, `This 8 year old girl is full of spunk! She still has lots of energy and is quite adventurous! Allis was very polite when eating French fries and getting lots of pets. She was very curious and liked her toys. She was very sociable with people and loved getting belly rubs. She alerted when she wanted to go outside and didn’t bark once! She eventually cuddled up on her bed and made herself very at home! Allis would make the perfect buddy for an adventurous soul!` Allis is spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, and ready for a loving forever home! Allis is currently in a foster home, email foster@kcpetproject.org!Her ADOPTION FEE IS WAIVED! We want all our dogs to have homes as quickly as possible. In an effort to help dogs with longer stays, those who are deteriorating in the shelter environment, or who are harder to place find homes more quickly, the adoption fee for this dog has been waived.
