My story

Say hello to Alvey! Alvey is a 3-year-old, 70-pound yellow Labrador retriever who’s basically the full package—equal parts goofy, loving, and loyal. He’s all Lab and all love, and his happy-go-lucky personality is impossible not to fall for.This big goofball has the classic Lab energy: he’s always ready for a game of tug-of-war, and fetch is his absolute favorite (though he’s still working on the whole “bring it back” part ??). Alvey already knows how to sit and wait patiently for his food and water until he hears the magic word—“free!”He’s great with other dogs, good with cats, and has all the potential to be a phenomenal family dog. With a little continued training and a lot of love, Alvey will make an amazing addition to just about any home.If you’re looking for a fun-loving, loyal companion who’s ready to be your new best friend—come meet Alvey!If you would like to meet him, please submit an application for him on our website https://www.friendsofmichigan.org/adoptable-dogs. He is neutered, up to date on all age appropriate vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped, and on monthly flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. His adoption fee is $250, which helps cover the cost of the medical care he has received.**Please note that the breed listed for each of our dogs is a rough estimate unless DNA results are provided in their Bio. All strays have rough estimates of their age based on the condition of their teeth.Each dog is different, so each adoption is different. Our adoption process might require multiple visits to the shelter before our dogs can go home. Or they may be ready on the first visit. It really depends on the individual dog and the potential adopters. Once we receive your application, the Dog Staff will contact you to discuss meeting our dogs.
