My story

About me! Meet Slay, also known as "Lolita" or "Lola" by her foster family. Slay is a tiny, precious, sweet girl! Weighing in at just 8 pounds, she is tiny but mighty. Slay is very gentle, shy, and timid due to her past. Given that she was a breeder surrender, she is very scared of humans, but opening up more and more each day! She was used solely for profit; she was never allowed to be a dog or shown true love by a human until she was rescued by Waldo’s. We can tell she has an endless amount of love to share once she feels safe to. Miss cutie girl is slowly but surely coming closer to us as the day goes by. She’s running away as soon as we acknowledge her, but she’s definitely warming up. It will take a lot of time, patience, love, and warmth to allow her to trust us. We’re ready!  Personality & Characteristics:My foster dog is good with: (Dogs, Kids, Cats): dogs, yes! She loves our resident dog, Howie! Cats and kids, unsure, but I have confidence she would be great due to her gentle nature. My foster dog is: (Crate trained, House trained, Low shed): crate trained and hypoallergenic (no shedding!).3 Keywords for your pup: Gentle, sweet, spunky! Energy Level (1= calm, 10= high energy): 2/3 if that!Barker? Or Quiet Pup?: quiet! only a bit vocal when she feels comfortable. Walking Manners: Not yet comfortable going outside or on the leash, but we are working on it! Appetite: eats 2-3x a day with treats! Favorite Things: rolling up like a little croissant when she sleeps, treats, and licking coconut oil off your hands!Commands/Tricks: TBD :)  ALL adoptions require a completed application and final contract. The application can be found at  WaldosRescue.org  and once you are approved to adopt you will be put in touch with the foster to see if it’s a good match. We are a RESCUE not a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We are unable to contact every applicant for every dog.  We will select the best applicant for each dog, based on the dogs needs.
