My story

YOU MUST HAVE AN APPROVED APPLICATION IN ORDER TO MEET OUR PETS. Meet Finn! Breed: Terrier/Maltese Mix (Best Guess) Age: year old at the end of July 2025 Weight: approximately 11 pounds Meet Finn, a sweet, loving pup who is so full of potential. Coming from a hoarding situation, Finn is now learning what it means to be cherished and cared for. He forms deep bonds with his people. Once he chooses you, he’s your loyal little shadow! He actually loves to be the center of your attention once he has bonded. He likes easy going men and women. He is very comfy with foster mom and dad. Finn is not a fan of overwhelming, boisterous dogs, prefers more gentle spirits. He would really prefer to be an only dog after living a life with a hoard of dogs since he adores human attention so much. He probably wouldn't mind another dog in the house if it were older, female, and pretty much ignored him! He actually does better with easy going larger dogs in a home setting since he can tend to be bossy with smaller ones (having come from a hoarding situation). Finn thrives in a calm, loving environment where he feels safe and secure. A fenced yard is a must, as he’s still getting accustomed to the outside world. He will cower submissively if you try to grab him suddenly and so he will be best in a home with adults and possibly older children that will respect him and not scare him by wanting to pick him up at random and carry him around. He has never snipped or growled at people, even when scared. He is just timid and unsure sometimes with sudden, unfamiliar stuff. He does not hesitate to tell other dogs to get out of his face if they are annoying, however. He will happily jump up on the couch to hang out with you and really enjoys family time. Family plus sofa plus toys, what contentment! It’s important to note that Finn, along with the other dogs he was rescued with, had never been part of a family before. Everything was new to him. With patience and consistency, Finn is making incredible progress. Finn’s Skills & Personality: - Crate trained and sleeps quietly in the crate at night - Working on potty training and doing well (ok with using a belly band while training) - Knows "sit" - Loves putting his toys in his crate or simply being surrounded by them - Navigates stairs with ease - Friendly, sweet, and eager to form strong bonds - He has learned to walk on a leash but likes to walk behind you. - He is a quick learner What Finn Needs: - A patient, loving adopter to help him grow in confidence - A family experienced with timid, inexperienced dogs so he can blossom - A home where he can be the center of attention - A secure, fenced yard - Ongoing support with outdoor potty training Finn is ready to begin his next chapter with someone who will give him the stability and love he deserves. Could that be you? Finn is neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, and microchipped. Adoption donation $350 Please note that we do not ship animals. We also require a home visit before finalizing any adoptions so preference is given to applicants within a 90 mile range. You will be required to come to High Point, NC to meet/pick up your new pet. HOW TO APPLY: 1. Go to www.lppnc.org 2. Click on the "Adoption Application" link on the left side of the page. 3. The application will open as a PDF and you should have the ability to fill it in from that page. Be sure to complete all fields. 4. Save the application to your computer, then attach in an email and send to petprojectnc@gmail.com 5. Someone will review your application as soon as possible, usually within 24 hours, and will be in touch with next steps.
