Meet Bertie – A Tiny Heart with Big Love to Give Say hello to Bertie, a shy young Chihuahua with a tender soul and eyes full of quiet curiosity. At first, Bertie may hang back and watch the world from a safe corner—but give her a little time, patience, and love, and you’ll see her personality begin to bloom. Bertie is still learning that the world can be a safe and gentle place. Sudden movements or loud noises can be a bit scary for her, so she’s looking for a calm, understanding home where she can go at her own pace. Once she feels safe, she’ll reward you with soft tail wags, gentle snuggles, and the kind of trust that means everything. She’s happiest in a quiet environment with a routine she can count on. Bertie is ready to form a deep bond with someone who will offer her the patience and kindness she deserves—someone who will let her know she’s finally home. The adoption fee is 350 + tax and covers age-appropriate vaccines, a microchip, and a spay/neuter. We're open from 12-4 PM every day EXCEPT Wednesday! Did you know you don't need to have an appointment to visit our available cats and dogs***? Simply drop by and if you find a potential new furry friend, you can fill out an application on the day you visit. Go to townandcountryanimalrescue.org to fill out our digital application. Applications are typically processed in 3-5 business days. Once you're approved, you can return on the date and time set up by your adoption counselor, with your family for a meet and greet. If it goes well, you can take your new best friend home on the meet and greet day! If you have other dogs in your home, they must all meet the potential adoptee.   ***Please note that animals in foster homes cannot be viewed at our rescue, and appointments are still required to meet them.
