My story

Tucker is a 13-year-old gentleman whose world recently changed when his beloved owner passed away. Now he’s hoping to find someone new to share his heart with. This sweet senior is incredibly friendly with everyone he meets and even has a signature “smile” that’s sure to brighten your day. Tucker seems to enjoy the company of other dogs and, for his age, is in fantastic shape. He appears to be house trained and is ready to settle right in with his new family. Tucker may have some years under his belt, but he’s proof that age is just a number when it comes to love and companionship. If you’re looking for a loyal, gentle soul to make your home a little warmer, Tucker might just be your guy. Ready to Adopt? You have two options: #1- VISIT IN PERSON Come during our open adoption hours: Tuesday - Saturday,12:30 - 3:00pm. You’ll be able to meet available dogs in the shelter. (Dogs in foster care are not available for in-person visits.) #2- ADOPT REMOTELY OR PLACE A 24-HOUR HOLD** If you’re ready to adopt without meeting the dog first, or you’d like to place a non-refundable $25 hold to reserve a dog for 24 hours, just call or email us: (413) 781-4000 x 1 springfield@dakinhumane.org. We are often helping other clients when you call, but we return voicemails and emails within 24 hours. **Holds are not available for puppies under six months, on Saturdays, or during adoption events. -------------------------------------------- All adult dog adoption fees include; -spay/neuter -rabies and kennel cough vaccinations - heartworm test -current parvo/distemper vaccines (may need additional boosters with your veterinarian) -microchip implanted & registered to adopter -treatment of fleas & ticks -veterinary exam and health certificate at Dakin -free vet exam within 30 days of adoption with participating veterinarians Most pets have also received other medical care while with us. Your veterinarian may recommend additional health care for your pet.
