My story

Bingo is a 5-year-old mixed breed who came to us as a stray and was never reclaimed, so his past is a mystery. He’s a bit of an independent guy when meeting new people — not because he’s shy or scared, but simply because he likes to take his time deciding if he’s in the mood for attention. Once he’s ready, though, he’s all about butt rubs, belly rubs, and hanging out with his people. Bingo isn’t aggressive toward other dogs, but he’s clearly uncomfortable around them, so he’d prefer to be your one and only and skip dog parks. We don’t know how he feels about cats. His ideal home would be a calm one with adults or kids 12+ who will let him approach on his own schedule. We think Bingo may be house trained, but we can’t say for certain. What we do know is that he’s an easygoing, low-drama kind of dog who will fit right in with someone who appreciates a companion that doesn’t demand constant attention but enjoys it when the moment’s right. Ready to Adopt? You have two options: #1- VISIT IN PERSON Come during our open adoption hours: Tuesday - Saturday,12:30 - 3:00pm. You’ll be able to meet available dogs in the shelter. (Dogs in foster care are not available for in-person visits.) #2- ADOPT REMOTELY OR PLACE A 24-HOUR HOLD** If you’re ready to adopt without meeting the dog first, or you’d like to place a non-refundable $25 hold to reserve a dog for 24 hours, just call or email us: (413) 781-4000 x 1 springfield@dakinhumane.org. We are often helping other clients when you call, but we return voicemails and emails within 24 hours. **Holds are not available for puppies under six months, on Saturdays, or during adoption events. -------------------------------------------- All adult dog adoption fees include; -spay/neuter -rabies and kennel cough vaccinations - heartworm test -current parvo/distemper vaccines (may need additional boosters with your veterinarian) -microchip implanted & registered to adopter -treatment of fleas & ticks -veterinary exam and health certificate at Dakin -free vet exam within 30 days of adoption with participating veterinarians Most pets have also received other medical care while with us. Your veterinarian may recommend additional health care for your pet.
