My story

I just sent the Weenie Welcome for Ozzy O that Kellie has. She’s anxious to get him posted so wrote a bio herself. I’m pasting what she wrote if you want to use all or part of it. Hi! I’m Baxter, a 1-year-old happy, wiggly pup looking for my forever family. I’ve got so much love to give, I can barely keep my tail from wagging while I tell you about myself! Here’s why you’ll love me: 🐶 I love EVERYONE – people, dogs… probably even cats (I haven’t met one yet, but I think we could be friends). 🐶 I’m super affectionate and love belly rubs– cuddles are my specialty! 🐶 I’m playful and full of energy – let’s go on adventures together. 🐶 I’m smart – I even know how to use a doggie door all by myself! 🐶 I walk nicely on a leash – exploring is my jam. 🐶 I’m mostly housebroken – I do mark in new places, but my recent neuter should help that. 🐶 I’m brave about thunder (weird, right?) – but big loud trucks and buses make me a little nervous. If you’re looking for a smart, loving, fun companion who will follow you everywhere and insist on sharing your personal space, I’m your guy. Let’s meet! Go to our online adoption application. Baxter's adoption fee is $450. All adoption fees go directly to veterinary care for DREAM dachshunds. Baxter will go to his / her new home microchipped, spayed/neutered, heartworm tested, up to date on vaccinations, and with all other medical needs addressed. Almost every dog's veterinary expenses exceed our adoption fees; we are a non-profit. DREAM is an all-volunteer rescue group. We focus on the metro Atlanta area and can assist throughout the state of Georgia. Since our rescue is entirely run and staffed by volunteers, our ability to travel long distances for adoptions is somewhat limited. We focus on Georgia, but if you are in a neighboring state, we might be able to work something out - we'll expect you to do your part. DREAM does not recommend purebred dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime.
