Cosette

My story

It would have been so easy for Cosette to have become a foster fail. We truly adore her, but our lifestyle just doesn't align with Cosette's long term needs. We love to be outdoors, and she's very indoorsy. She's a homebody, and we keep the road hot. I can envision her fitting in perfectly with a family, couple, or single person. Now that she's ready for her forever home she deserves the absolute best! She likes to spend most of the day snuggled on a lap or napping. She loves human interaction and if you sit, she will be in your lap if allowed. For about 5 minutes twice a day she's a highly entertaining wild child and will run around with her toys. She's an absolute riot when she goes into play mode, but it's not long until she's finished and ready to resume her snuggles. If 92% snuggle bum and 8% clown is someone's dream dog, Cosette is their girl! Cosette is still nervous about new folks and will try to hide, but in 5 minutes or less she'll come out from behind the chair and be ready for lovin's. Cosette is around 2 years old and weighs a dainty 11 pounds. When she finishes regrowing her fur, she'll be a beautiful tri-color with a soft, low maintenance coat. She loves to chill out 23.5 hours a day and plays hard for 10 or 15 minutes several times a day. She's a riot. Cosette is good with kids, cats, dogs, chickens, and horses. She appears to have zero prey drive and does not resource guard. She has never chewed anything but her toys. My three year old grandson spends the day at our home once a week, and Cosette is a kind and curious friend to him. Cosette has attended family gatherings with 12-15 people in attendance and had a great time. She walks nicely on a leash and has enjoyed visiting Tractor Supply once a week or so. Cosette is progressing in her house training. At this point in time she does quite well as long as she's on a very structured routine of going out. She loves her crate and frequently goes into her crate of her own accord, just to nap or hang out.
