Meet Sam! The Retriever Mix with the Everlasting Smile! At 9 years old, Sam has perfected the art of joy. No matter where he is or what he’s doing, this handsome gentleman wears a smile that could melt the coldest of hearts. Sam came into the care of HSSM on August 10th, 2025, after being picked up as a stray in Gulfport. Though he had no collar or tags, he was microchipped, which gave us hope that someone was out there missing him. Sadly, despite every effort, no one ever came forward. Now, Sam is counting on us, and maybe you, to give him the love, family, and forever home he so deeply deserves.“Smiley Sam,” as we like to call him, is happiest when he’s by your side. Whether it’s curling up for cuddle time (he is the king of cuddles, after all) or heading out for a nice stroll, Sam is always ready to fill your days with love and companionship. He’s a gentleman on the leash, polite in nature, and truly just wants to be your best friend. Sam also enjoys the company of other dogs and would be delighted to have a canine buddy to share in his adventures. And when it comes to health, Sam is the full package: up to date on vaccines, microchipped, fully vetted, heartworm negative, and will be neutered upon adoption if not already.
