My story

Mr Darcy's 9 years old, around 10 lbs, and is a Maltese mix. He is neutered, heartworm negative, and up-to-date on vaccines and monthly preventatives. He's fostered in Jacksonville, FL. This good boy loves to play with toys and run full speed through the backyard - feeling the wind in his fur. This is a man of action! He wants to be where the people are and play with all of the other dogs. While Mr Darcy loves to play with other dogs, his foster feels that he'd be best as an only dog in his new home. While this darling adores playing, he's still practicing the skills to disengage when he's tired. When it comes meal times, he will attempt to finish his friend's food against their wishes and may cause a scene. His love of cuddling and disinterest in sharing a lap can lead to a breach of etiquette ill befitting a senior gentleman of his station. Mr Darcy has two chronic medical conditions that are managed with medication. He has a grade 4 out of 5 heart murmur and food and environmental allergies. His heart murmur is managed with a daily medication. His allergies are managed with Apoquel and a raw diet. Prior his immunotherapy allergy tests this poor dog was biting and scratching his back raw and bloody. His adopters must be able to continue his medications and raw diet to ensure he continues a happy, healthy life.
