My story

Beautiful boy Asher, not to be confused with R&B superstar Usher, or Santa’s #2 favorite reindeer, Dasher, is a debonair heartthrob currently residing at Pima Animal Care Center. While we haven’t heard him sing any love songs, and nobody in the shelter has seen him fly, he has many tremendous qualities which should put him on your wish list! Asher’s volunteer friends gush about him:“I love Asher!! Today was my second time taking him out and he is a sweet and affectionate meathead! He’s very friendly and easy to leash up in his kennel and he is very excited about his walks. I like taking him to a play yard where he can explore and we can cuddle. After going potty, he always comes right over to me, eliciting attention and affection! When I sit down, he comes over and puts his front paws on my knees, asking to snuggle for a little bit before heading off to explore the yard. He also enjoys getting into the water trough for a drink and to cool off! He’s an independent guy who is also super affectionate and likes checking in with his person. He’s a really balanced pup and I could see him in a home chillaxing on the couch or playing with his person in the backyard. I look forward to hanging out with him again soon!”Shelter staff say that Asher is a treat-motivated guy (great for training!) who warms up to new people quickly. He’d like to meet any resident dogs before heading home to ensure a good fit. Asher is looking for a home with a secure yard and one without small dogs or cats.
