Bentley is fostered in Pleasonton, KS. Meet Bentley. Bentley is what we like to call "a work in progress". He is a 2-3 year old Australian Shepherd mix, that currently weighs about 50 lbs. He was previously with an owner who had to surrender him due to some medical issues. We believe he was not well socialized and he spent a great deal of time in his crate so he has some catching up to do. He even had to learn what grass was. Bentley is house trained and just recently learned to use a doggie door. He does like to go on walks but given his lack of socialization, this is also an area he is still learning so he may react when seeing other dogs. However, his foster home is diligently working on that and he is already improving! His foster mom has been using Reconcile, which has helped immensely. Bentley also arrived about 10 lbs overweight so he is on a nice slow weightloss program and becoming a little more active. Bently is a talker. The more you talk to him, the more he talks. Bentley is crate trained and his crate is his safe place. Bentley is also a lower energy guy. Bentley is slower to warm up, but again, this is due to his lack of socialization with the outside world. With love and patience, Bentley can become a wonderful companion. Bentley's ideal home is one with less comings and goings, a physically fenced yard and a patient person(s) who has the love and skills to get him to where he needs to be. We recommend no children under 15 years. We also would recommend another outgoing, social dog in the home, although this is not required. What is required, is someone who is committed to some training and seeing Bentley blossom at his pace. Bentley needs a hero!! Bentley will need a patient adopter, who is willing to continue his socialization and training. He's got it in there, but he needs help moving forward. Is that you?? Bentley is neutered, up-to-date on all vaccinations, heartworm negative, microchipped and receiving monthly preventatives for fleas, ticks and heartworms. Proof of heartworm prevention for any current or previous pets is required to adopt from our organization. For more information on our adoption process or to complete an adoption application, please visit our website at www.MidwestAustralianShepherdRescue.org. NOTE: All of our dogs live in foster homes with volunteers so we need an approved application on file to set up a meet with a dog you might have an interest in. Please visit our website for more information on our adoption process, our adoption fees and a link to our adoption application. We pride ourselves on matches that work for both the dog and your family. MASR is here for your support, advice and safety net for our dogs for the remainder of their lives. www.MidwestAustralianShepherdRescue.org ##2407689##
