Widgeon: The Luckiest Unlucky Kitten Widgeon might just be the luckiest unlucky kitten in the world. After being struck by a car and left behind without a second thought, fate intervened in the form of a good Samaritan who rushed him to a local emergency vet. Initially labeled as feral, Widgeon’s story took a turn when a foster—who just happened to be in the building—who is also our medical director---caught a glimpse of his face. She stepped in just in time, sparing him before the local shelter got involved. The vet confirmed he had no broken bones, though they couldn’t rule out possible neurological issues due to his "spicy" temperament. But his foster insisted on bringing him home to monitor. There, after a short period of shock, Widgeon shredded his feral card and leaned into the indoor life like a pro. Thankfully, he’s shown no signs of lingering effects from his accident! Widgeon is full of kitten zest. If it moves, he’ll chase it. If it squeaks, he’ll pounce. He loves to launch himself into his foster’s arms, perch on shoulders, and purr directly into ears. And his purr? It’s exquisite—like therapy for the soul. We’re not sure how he does with small children or dogs, but Widgeon’s high energy would be best matched with another playful feline companion. Of course, he also thrives on human attention and affection. If you are looking to be kept on your toes, Widgeon is the one for you! His mischief is only outweighed by the love he has to offer ❤️
