My story

Hi I am Rascal.   I look like my mom was a corgi and my dad was a jack russell, but really I am a Texas special. That is what my foster mom calls her dogs of unknown heritage from Texas.  So I am from west Texas. I was kept on a chain with little food and water ( fyi Texas gets hot ). The people were breeding dogs, yes, I don't know why I was there.  Animal control took us due to the lack of care and I ended up at the pound then thankfully picked up by a rescue and here I am in Denver!  I am very loyal. When my best friend from my Texas days was adopted I was very sad for days. I was kept with male dogs, so I like the female dogs at my foster, but I love the male dog. I get along with all dogs, but would probably do well with a friend a little bigger than me as I love to play. Ok I love everything. I love people. I love cats. I love kids. I love other dogs. I am just the happiest pup. I may do better with kids a bit older, not because of any aggression. Rather I am exuberant and may run over a toddler. I am built like a tiny draft horse. I am only 25 lbs and most of that is in my super strong legs. I was tested with cats in Texas and I passed.  My fosters don't have any cats, however they have a Penny.  Penny is a 10 lb, 8 year old princess of a dog and she told me to settle down, so I did. As I mentioned I was living outdoors with limited food and water.  When I arrived I scarfed down all of my food and drank all of the water in the bowl.  In a very short amount of time I have learned to only eat and drink when I am hungry.  I am house and crate trained. I sleep in my crate quietly all night and when I take "breaks" during the day. I love to take walks. I didn't know how to walk on a leash when I arrived, but I am champ now. I am a high energy dog. If you have a dog I can play with that will also use up a lot of my energy. I also love to play fetch and that is a great way to interact with me and expend some of my energy!  Overall I am the sweetest boy.  I get along with everyone.  I am a little like Tigger. I am fun fun fun fun fun. I am also a fast learned and just want to please you. The vet estimated Rascal to be 1 year of age. If you would like to adopt, please complete an application at https://www.circle2rescue.com/dog-adoption-application/ The adoption fee of $300 includes the spay/neuter, vaccinations, deworming and microchip. ##2436754##

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Rascal, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
