My name is Faith and I’m looking for my forever home! I’ll be 2 y.o. in December and I weigh 27 lbs. I came to my foster home here in Columbus, OH, from a commercial breeding facility that was closing. I love living in a home with humans! My favorite things are getting pets and scritches and attention and adoration. Oh – and treats too! Foster mom says I’m super-smart. I’ve learned 5 different commands already and I listen well when I’m told to stop doing something. My forever family will just need to be consistent so I continue to learn the ropes. Speaking of ropes, I’m learning how to walk on a leash! After a bit of fuss about the leash, I decided I like it! I like other dogs and am a good playmate. I'm never aggressive and I respect when another dog is ready to stop. I can sometimes be bossy. I'll knock another dog out of my way or so I can hog my foster mom's attention. I met a little human once and that was fine. Foster mom thinks I'll do fine with kids, as long as I didn’t knock one over accidentally. I’m gentle and sweet and confident. I’ve never lived with cats or small pets. I’ll sometimes chase after a bird or a squirrel in the yard, though. I’m a good girl when left alone at home. I am fully potty trained with no accidents – I even ring a bell when I need to go outside. I am good in my kennel. Foster mom thinks I could adapt well to a variety of environments: house or apartment, fenced yard or not, kids or none, other dogs or not. I don’t seem too spooked by strange noises like fireworks. I even went on a long road-trip to TX and was great in the car. My forever family should know that Shibas can be escape artists and door bolters. I’ve learned to stop and wait until foster mom tells me I can go outside through a door. I'm healthy - spayed and vaccinated. If you live in the Midwest and want an easy-going, fun, confident, sweet girl like me to be your companion, visit www.savingshibas.com/adopt to apply to become an approved adopter with SIRA. The application process helps SIRA learn more about you and your home environment so they can make sure we’ll be a good match. Once approved, SIRA will introduce you to my foster mom so we can meet!
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Faith, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
