Perry The Germans are coming, the Germans are coming! That is, Perry is on his way! German through and through, his mom is a German Shepherd; dad was a German Shorthaired Pointer. With this pup, you don’t have to wait till October to enjoy a Fest! But it wasn’t all fun and laughs in the beginning. His canine mom and dad did all they could, I’m sure. It was his people who let him down. Perry came from a very bad neglect/hoarding situation. Fourteen dogs in outside enclosures, open to all the elements. Rain, heat, cold, whatever Mother Nature threw at them, and no grass underfoot. The people let this happen. They did not get Mom and Dad fixed. Multiple litters later, plus other assorted dogs added to the mix, and everybody needing rescue. But don’t feel sorry for him now! Perry has overcome his sad beginnings! He is a beautiful, happy, energetic, affectionate pup. He gets along well with his foster brother—Tanner, a 20 lb. Chihuahua/Russell Terrier/Black and Tan Hound Dog mix (quite the combo, that one). He loves tagging alongside Tanner on walks to the river after breakfast, getting a quick drink, then heading off to the park for more adventures (and nature calls). Then back for a rest in his kennel. He is very well kennel trained—no accidents. Then later in the afternoon, everyone gets back together for ball throwing and chasing. Tanner is the king of fetch. He always brings the ball back. Perry loves chasing the ball, but he gets a little distracted on the return sometimes. He is pretty good on leash (pulls a little), has mastered “sit,” and is going for a week of finishing training, already scheduled. He is great with kids and other dogs; he is not aggressive with cats. And he is great at jumping in the back floorboard of his foster mother’s truck to go for away adventures. Perry has his mother’s German Shepherd looks, with a little longer coat than a Pointer and some brown undercoat that sparkles in the sunshine on his ears and top of head. He weighs about 40 lbs and is about 8 months old. He deserves the best life! He will be a wonderful companion and a lot of entertainment. Plus, he is good for your health! He will get you up and out for walks in the park, appreciating nature, making friends with other dog lovers, and smiling a lot. He will love you no matter the level of your ball-throwing skills. Ya’ll can learn the art of fetch together! He is also currently in training school!
