My story

It’s me, Mark! I’m an approximately 1-year-old Shepherd mix. After being with RCHS since last spring and having major orthopedic surgery on my hip, I'm finally healed and ready to find my forever home! I’m excited about that, but also scared. In fact, it seems that the whole world is super scary still – especially new people. However, when I have decided that a person is ok, I give the BEST snuggles and gentle kisses and love to snuggle on the bed, the couch or even the floor. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE other dogs, big ones and small ones, and would need a home where I have a canine friend to follow around and play with and help me adjust. I don’t mind cats either (though some that don’t like me are scary). I'm as gentle as can be and would never hurt anything, but when I'm stressed I will either run or bark, so a house with a fully fenced yard would be necessary to keep me safe. Because of my fear, I'm on daily antianxiety medication and will likely have to be on that for the rest of my life. I would do best in a quiet home without too many visitors.
