My story

Poppy is an 8 month old, 55ish lb, female Golden puppy looking for a home where here family has the time and committment to give to her to meet her puppy needs. Puppies need lots of exercise and direction and a family that has the time to give her these things and Poppy is coming from an environment where she did not have a lot of structure in her day to day, and she very much needs that in her life. We are told by her family: "Our house is too unstable for this sweet, sensitive dog... We consulted with a dog trainer and also a dog behaviorist. With 6 people, 4 of them college or high school age - we have tried but cannot provide the environment and structure this girl needs to feel secure. It breaks my heart, but we have to face reality that we can't provide what Poppy needs." Poppy is crate-trained, leaash-trained and house-trained. We are told: "Poppy is in a 4x8 pen during the day if we're not home. She sleeps in a dog tent at night. The other times she's in the house with us, and I take her to the bark park daily. She has a lot of precious and endearing behaviors - licking the air, laying belly up, being floppy, and having the cutest underbite. She lived with another dog and a cat (GRRAND has not cat tested her)." Our GRRAND volunteer says: "Poppy is a very sweet and beautiful young golden.  She rides well in a crate and walks impressively on a leash.  Poppy will respond well to consistent training due to her personality and youthfulness.  This girl will be going places and will appreciate a loving and patient home." Any applicant with children under the age of 16, will require a home with direct access to a securely fenced yard... meaning direct access to the yard from the home… so this means no apartments or condos.  We are still learning about Poppy, but if you would like to meet her, please fill out an app at GRRAND.org   ##2502476##

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Poppy #6652, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
