My story

I’m little Zoey, I need a second chance at life – and I need you! I have a big story to tell and an even bigger heart to share. I am a tiny 4-year-old Chihuahua, and I came to the Sedona shelter with my sister when our family could no longer take care of us. Lucky Daisy Mae and I were adopted separately but on the same day. Regrettably I wasn’t a good fit for my new family, so I am at the shelter again and struggling with many sad feelings of being alone.Life in the shelter has left me a little scared, so I tremble when I first meet new people and hide behind cautious eyes. Once we spend time together, and I get a few pets and love from you, a smile comes across my face. Soon you will find me crawling onto your lap for a snuggle!I need a family to adopt me that understands my need to decompress, relax, and feel safe in a new environment. This can take me a few days so please be patient. Your support and care will be rewarded with wonderful companionship, and a future full of love, cuddles and endless devotion. I`ll greet you with a wagging tail when you come home and curl up beside you in your favorite chair, while resting my head with quiet trust that says, “thank you for seeing me.” The companionship of another mellow friendly dog would be fun and may help me adjust. I share nicely, and I don`t need much - just a safe lap, a warm blanket and someone who believes in second chances. I like being outside, playing in the yard and going on short walks.I am spayed, microchipped and up to date on vaccines.If you’re ready to love little Zoey, a dog with a lot of heart, she is at the shelter and ready to love you back!
