Rescued from a shelter and welcomed into foster care, Paradise has blossomed from a timid and cautious girl into a curious, affectionate, and increasingly confident companion. She’s been thriving in her current foster home with kids ages 8, 11, and 13, showing affection to every member of the family. She’s not a Velcro dog, but she checks in often for cuddles and connection, greeting each person with equal enthusiasm. With guests, she may be a little shy at first, but she warms up in no time. True to her breed, Paradise needs both physical and mental stimulation to feel her best. She loves tug-of-war, backyard zoomies, and chewing on her favorite toys. She’s even learned to fetch— bringing back a ball or stick and dropping it like a pro. Her energy level is moderate to high, so she’s best suited for a household that can offer her regular activity and engagement. Paradise is housetrained, crate trained, and able to settle independently. While she initially avoided the couch, she’s since discovered the joy of a comfy nap and now spends her nights moving between the rug and the sofa. She sleeps soundly on her own in the living room. Out on walks, she’s made steady progress. At first, she was easily startled by people, dogs, and cars, and she wouldn’t approach busy areas. But with patience and consistency, she’s grown braver— now exploring quiet parks and expanding her comfort zone a little more each day. Paradise would thrive in a loving, active home— ideally with a yard, a doggy sibling, and people who understand that confidence takes time. She's a smart, intuitive dog who’s already made huge strides and is ready to keep growing with the right support. Her foster's favorite thing? Watching her gently “herd” the family and master new skills every day— a beautiful reminder of the intelligence, heart, and resilience behind those soulful eyes. With Paradise, you’re not just adopting a dog—you’re welcoming a loyal, loving friend who’s learning how to trust the world again, one joyful step at a time.September 3, 2025, 3:06 pm
