Benny is an adorable, 1-year-old, 14 lb Jack Russell Terrier who’s ready to find his forever family! (While we think he could be a purebred JRT, we cannot say for sure!) Benny was found as a stray in rural Arkansas and found himself in a small, high-kill shelter. We rescued him and had him transported to Colorado and he is now safe in a foster home in Boulder, waiting to find his forever family. This little guy loves exploring the world around him, whether that’s going for walks, sniffing in the yard, or joining you on adventures. Once playtime is over, Benny is more than happy to curl up beside you for some well-deserved snuggles. If you’re looking for a cheerful, affectionate companion who will be your best buddy through thick and thin, Benny is your boy! From Benny's foster: "Benny is such a good dog!!! He does love to play, but he also knows how to chill. He is very very good in his crate; goes right in it for bed and doesn't make a peep inside the crate! He gets very excited to go on walks... he LOVES walks! He wants to meet all the people we pass. He is super social and friendly!" Benny is smart, energetic, and eager to please. He’d do well in a home where he can get regular exercise and plenty of love. Benny is true to Jack Russell Terrier standards and we are looking for an adopter that's committed to giving his energy appropriate outlets. We don’t know if Benny has had any formal training, but a (virtual or in-person) positive reinforcement group training class will help him build confidence, bond with his new family, and master good manners. Training is essential for a successful adoption, and Farfel’s is happy to provide a list of recommended force-free trainers to set Benny up for success. Benny has been fully vetted, is up to date on vaccines, and neutered. Farfel's Rescue is a fully foster based rescue, and offers a one week trial with every adoption. We feel that this is much more beneficial to not only the dog, but the adopter too. We believe that only getting 20-30 minutes with a dog before deciding on a lifetime commitment is not a fair amount of time to the adopter, or the dog. Therefore we give adopters one week with the dog to assure it is the right fit, and offer a full refund of their adoption fee should it not workout within the week trial. Farfel's Rescue has been doing adoptions this way since 2005 and is thrilled to adopt out ~400 dogs each year. If you are interested in adopting from us, please be sure to fill out our adoption application at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ . **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting from us, please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application found at the link above or at farfels.com. Adoption site applications such as Petfinder and Adoptapet don't provide enough information and therefore aren't useful. Our Farfel's application is the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog. We're sorry, but in many cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit our Farfel's Rescue adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue.
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Benny, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
