My story

DOB: May 9th, 2025 Hi, I’m Porcini! Porcini is an absolutely stunning young kitten with glowing golden eyes that seem to take in everything around her. Though she’s still learning to trust people, you can see the wheels turning as she watches quietly from a safe spot—curious, thoughtful, and beginning to wonder if maybe you’re someone she could learn to love. Porcini came to Toronto Cat Rescue with her siblings after being found as young feral kittens, and she’s still learning that people can be trusted. She’s understandably cautious and not quite ready for cuddles yet, but she’s already come a long way. She's grown more curious and now spends time observing her foster from nearby—baby steps in the right direction! She still prefers to keep her distance and doesn’t like being picked up (yet), but she’s not aggressive at all—just a little unsure about how close is too close. Porcini absolutely thrives in the company of other cats. She adores birdwatching from a sunny window, chasing and wrestling with her siblings, and curling up for snuggly naps after a good play session. Her ideal home would include a feline friend (or two!) who can help her continue to build confidence and learn that humans aren’t so scary. Porcini will need a calm, patient adopter who understands that trust takes time—and who finds joy in the slow, rewarding process of helping a shy kitten bloom. With love, routine, and the right environment, she’s sure to grow into the brave, affectionate girl she’s meant to be.
