My story

Meet Woofian – A Gentle, Loving SoulWoofian is a friendly young pup who came to the shelter as a stray alongside her companion Andwoof. Given their similar age, they may be siblings. While not officially considered a bonded pair, they clearly take comfort in each other—especially Woofian, who seems more confident in Andwoof’s presence. While they can be adopted separately, it would be ideal if they could go to a home together. Woofian is a sweetheart through and through. She greets visitors at the kennel door with a soft, relaxed body and gentle tail wags. She’s easy to leash up, walks well, and is always happy to soak up attention. She actively seeks out affection, leaning into pets and handling with a soft expression and wagging tail. She already knows “sit” and is eager to please. While she didn’t show interest in toys or play, she made it clear that her favorite thing is simply being close to her people. At mealtime, Woofian did show some mild food-guarding behaviors—she eats quickly and prefers to be left alone while eating or enjoying high-value chews. For this reason, we recommend giving her space during feeding and working with a trainer to help her build trust and confidence around food. When meeting another dog (a calm, older female), Woofian was polite and relaxed, with soft body language and easy wags. She showed minor interest and then disengaged comfortably, which tells us she could likely coexist well with other respectful dogs. We recommend a dog-to-dog introduction with any potential canine housemates to make sure everyone gets along. Woofian would thrive in a calm, loving home where she can continue to blossom. We recommend working with a trainer to help her feel secure and confident, and a family meet-and-greet is recommended to ensure a great fit. This gentle girl is ready to find her place in the world—ideally with her buddy Andwoof, but she’s also ready to shine on her own. Come meet Woofian and see if she’s the perfect addition to your family. This pet is eligible for an Adoption Audition! What is an Adoption Audition?
