My story

Meet Sprocket, our handsome 3-year-old Doberman! Sprocket is full of energy and personality—he loves people and is always up for playtime. He was surrendered because of his high energy, but in the right home, that enthusiasm will be a wonderful match. Sprocket has done well living with kids and previously shared his home with a French Bulldog, enjoying lots of fun play sessions together. Smart and eager to please, he already knows sit and down, and he’s both house trained and crate trained. Like many young Dobermans, he has plenty of energy to burn and will thrive in an active home that can give him daily exercise and positive training. He can be a bit obnoxious with female dogs and still needs to be neutered, so he’ll benefit from guidance and structure as he continues to mature. With his affectionate nature and playful spirit, Sprocket is ready to be a loyal and fun companion for the right family. Ready to Adopt? You have two options: #1- VISIT IN PERSON Come during our open adoption hours: Tuesday - Saturday,12:30 - 3:00pm. You’ll be able to meet available dogs in the shelter. (Dogs in foster care are not available for in-person visits.) #2- ADOPT REMOTELY OR PLACE A 24-HOUR HOLD** If you’re ready to adopt without meeting the dog first, or you’d like to place a non-refundable $25 hold to reserve a dog for 24 hours, just call or email us: (413) 781-4000 x 1 springfield@dakinhumane.org. We are often helping other clients when you call, but we return voicemails and emails within 24 hours. **Holds are not available for puppies under six months, on Saturdays, or during adoption events. -------------------------------------------- All adult dog adoption fees include; -spay/neuter -rabies and kennel cough vaccinations - heartworm test -current parvo/distemper vaccines (may need additional boosters with your veterinarian) -microchip implanted & registered to adopter -treatment of fleas & ticks -veterinary exam and health certificate at Dakin -free vet exam within 30 days of adoption with participating veterinarians Most pets have also received other medical care while with us. Your veterinarian may recommend additional health care for your pet.
