“Grumpy Cat” alert! Hey, Julian’s not anti-social, he’s just pro-solitude. Julian is a growly little guy who came to EHS from an overcrowded municipal shelter, grumbling the whole way. He was initially described as “sick and skinny” as he has spent most of his life as a stray, however, better days are ahead as he gets the care he needs. His current attitude is entirely understandable, given all he has clearly been through.ABOUT JULIAN- At shelter- Julian is a handsome fellow, whose dark grey coat matches his stormy mood and little thunder growls. Sunnier days are ahead, sweet boy! - Shelter volunteers report that Julian should be approached slowly and calmly. He will accept some pets on the head, but he is only interested in brief interactions while he learns to trust humans. He doesn’t seem to like the back-scratcher and has added it to his list of complaints. - Julian is a skittish cat who has had minimal experience with humans.- He is currently enrolled in EHS’s socialization program, where dedicated volunteers are working to help him to become more comfortable around people. - Some skittish cats may remain reserved, while others may express their trust and affection in a variety of ways. As we get to know Julian, we will be able to identify the key to success with this little grouch. - Julian is neutered, microchipped, dewormed, flea-treated, SNAP-tested for FIV/FeLV, and is up to date on core vaccinations. JULIAN’S IDEAL HOME- Julian must be the only cat in the home. (He’s clearly an introvert!)- A skittish cat will benefit from a calm, quiet environment, preferably without small children. - Potential adopters should be prepared to commit the time, effort, and patience required to help Julian settle into his new environment. EHS will provide post-adoption support to assist Julian with a successful transition to his forever home. Will you be the one to welcome this cantankerous boy into your home? Why not come by the shelter and meet him? He may just be the perfect companion to commiserate with at the end of the day.
