My story

🥖 Meet Crouton – Small, Sassy, and So Lovable!Crouton is about 13 years old and weighs 7 lbs, and he’s every bit as cute as his name suggests! We don’t know much about his past, but this little guy is ready to find a safe and loving place to call home.Crouton is shy and sleepy by nature, but he’s also got a sassy streak that keeps life interesting. At the vet, he’s earned the nickname “The Terminator”—he’s not a fan of being poked and prodded and isn’t shy about letting you know it! Underneath that feisty exterior, though, is a very sweet pup who just needs patience and understanding. He has chronic ear infections, and we’re actively working to get those resolved so he can feel his best. The kink in one of his ears is like cauliflower ear in human boxers—he’s had so many chronic ear infections that the cartilage has hardened into that unique shape. He’s also blind in one eye, which makes him nervous when things approach from his blind side. In addition, Crouton has paraphimosis, which currently requires daily lubricant and will likely need surgery in the future. He’ll need lots of patience and cooperative care to stay healthy and comfortable.Once he feels safe, Crouton’s softer side shines through—he’ll let you know when and where he wants to be touched, loves belly rubs, and even waves his little front paws to beg for affection. He’s pee pad trained and happily coexists with both dogs and cats, making him an easy addition to a multi-pet home.Crouton may be small, but he’s full of personality, and for the right adopter, he promises a bond filled with sweetness, spunk, and plenty of charm. 💕To have your home considered for adoption, read about our adoption process or fees, and find out about interstate transport (dogs only), please visit our website.https://longwayhome.org/apply ❤ Long Way Home makes no guarantees on breed--most animals we receive from shelters are mixed breeds. As long as they need rescue, that's what is most important to us.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Crouton, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
