Lira A17779671 lb. spayed female, approx 1 1/2 years old -Big timid baby!-Once she’s comfortable she loves to be close for pets-Out in the yard she was doing a few zoomies. She chases after toys but didn’t engage in play.-Gives a few kisses-She wouldn’t take treats initially but the more comfortable she became, she started too. She sits and takes them very gently.-New things make her nervous and she’ll need someone to be patient and soft with her-She pulls a bit on leash-Seems non reactive to dogs nearby and may do well living with a fur sibling after slow and proper intros-Dogs that were loud and barking at her made her nervous. Slow intros must be done to make her feel safe! Unknown behavior with dogs/cats/kids •Meet all of our adoptable pets on our website friendsofdacc.org/adopt •Please keep in mind that the shelter can be a very stressful environment. •Studies show that a minimum of 3 days decompression drastically lower stress hormones and allow the dog to show more personality after they have settled in. •There is a suggested donation of $100 for our dogs, payable by cash, check or through paypal at the time of the adoption. •To meet them please go to front door and a DACC staff member will assist you with adoption or fostering. **And when coming to meet one of our dogs, please bring all the humans with you, but leave any current dogs at home. Staff will go over how to slowly and properly introduce them after a decompression period.** •The shelter is open 7 days a week from 10:30-5:30 **1431 E Ferry St. Detroit
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Lira, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
