Meet Lion-O: the heartthrob of the Thundercats litter. He’s a super sweet, ridiculously loveable fluffball who looks like he was custom-designed to make humans swoon. If you’ve been waiting for a snuggly sidekick who thinks your mere existence is the best thing since kibble, Lion-O is your guy. Lion-O is part of our Thundercats litter—about 6 weeks old and already weighing in at a mighty 7 pounds of pure cuddle fluff. He and his siblings came to us when they were just about a week old, after their owner could no longer care for Mama Kotten and the pups due to health issues. Mama Kotten arrived in rough condition, but in true superhero fashion, she pulled through and has been nothing short of amazing raising this crew of tiny fuzzballs. Lion-O hasn’t exactly been sheltered from the world—he’s already had plenty of exposure to the full social circle: dogs, cats, and kids. With his siblings, he’s the sweet fluffball who’s more about cuddles than chaos, but don’t underestimate him—he can hold his own when the group decides it’s time for a wrestling match. Around cats, he’s curious but respectful, giving them the wide-eyed “what are you, magical creature?” stare and then either attempting a cautious sniff or deciding the couch is a safer observation deck. Kids? Oh, he’s a fan. They’re loud, funny, and best of all, they tend to drop snacks without realizing it. Lion-O happily claims those leftovers as his rightful treasure. He’s patient enough to soak up attention from little hands, and he thrives on the extra love and giggles they bring. Overall, he handles the chaos of a busy household with a surprisingly calm, sweet nature—he’s the kind of puppy who can adapt to just about any family dynamic. Whether he’s wrestling with his siblings, politely investigating cats, or curling up with kids, Lion-O proves that his superpower isn’t leading the Thundercats—it’s winning over absolutely everyone he meets. Lion-O clocks in around a 6 or 7 on the puppy energy scale—which basically means he’s got enough zoomies in him to keep things entertaining, but not so much that you’ll need to hire a personal trainer just to survive puppyhood. He’s the smaller of the two boys, but don’t let that fool you—he’s leaning hard into his “lover, not a fighter” persona. While his brother is out there trying to be King of the Mountain, Lion-O is more interested in being King of Your Lap. Basically, Lion-O is the puppy equivalent of that extroverted friend who hugs everyone at the party, makes 12 new best friends, and somehow still remembers to compliment your shoes. Sweet, playful, and ridiculously lovable—he’s the kind of dog who makes it impossible to stay in a bad mood. Lion-O may look like a ready-made cuddle accessory, but let’s not kid ourselves—he’s a puppy, not a pre-programmed robot. His future family will still need to put in the work. He’ll need socializing so he doesn’t think the UPS driver is an invading army, potty training so your living room doesn’t become his personal outhouse, leash training so walks don’t resemble a strong-willed kite flying session, and yes, some puppy-proofing—because curiosity plus fluffball usually equals “oops.” The good news? Lion-O is smart, eager to please, and ridiculously lovable. He’s the kind of pup who will make you laugh while you’re teaching him, melt your heart when he curls up for a nap, and reward your patience by becoming the loyal sidekick you always dreamed of. Put in the effort now, and you’ll have a lifelong shadow who loves you with the intensity of a dog who thinks you invented snacks. Now, before you drop “I want him!!!” in the comments like you’re ordering takeout, let’s get something straight: Lion-O doesn’t ship via Prime. You’ll need to fill out an actual adoption application at https://www.pyrpawsandfluffytailsrescue.com/adoption-app so we can send it along to his foster family. Then you can plan your road trip to Claremore, OK to claim your fluffy little shadow. And because Lion-O enjoys making an entrance, he won’t be ready to head home until the beginning of October. Consider it his dramatic season premiere: Coming Soon—Lion-O: The Snuggle Saga. Trust us, it’s worth the wait.
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Lion-O, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
