Meet Bug – A Goofy, Lovable Pug! Breed: Pug Age: 3 years old Weight: 21 lbs Bug is an adorable, silly, and snuggly little guy who’s ready to wiggle his way into your heart! He’s full of personality — equal parts goofy playmate and loyal cuddle buddy. About Bug: Kennel trained — sleeps soundly through the night and happily naps in his crate. Mostly potty trained — marking improving now that he is neutered. Good with big and small dogs (he’s learning about personal space and doing great!). Good with cats. Best for homes without small children or seniors since he’s always underfoot and might accidentally trip someone. Gets excited and may jump up to greet you — we’re working on manners. Has hilarious zoomies where he flips and flops across the couch like a little acrobat. Can get mouthy when excited — never hard, but it can sting if he catches you just right. Snores loudly, even while awake — classic pug charm! Bug’s foster describes him as “snuggly, super goofy, and noisy,” with a talent for making everyone laugh. Heartworm Treatment & Foster-to-Adopt Bug is heartworm positive, but don’t worry — Heart of America Humane Society will cover the full cost of his treatment. Here’s what to expect: Bug can move to his forever home now as a foster-to-adopt placement. During treatment, he’ll need to stay calm and have limited activity — no long walks or rambunctious play. Once treatment is complete and he’s fully recovered, the adoption will be finalized. Life After Heartworm Treatment: After he completes treatment, Bug will be ready to enjoy a full, active life just like any other dog. It’s critical that he stays on monthly heartworm prevention for life to protect him from ever going through treatment again. This simple step keeps him safe, healthy, and ready for all of life’s adventures. Bug is ready to bring laughter, snuggles, and his signature pug antics to a loving home. If you’re looking for a small dog with a big personality, Bug might just be your perfect match! All Heart of America Humane Society dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations. Adoption fee: $225 for all dogs. If you have other dogs in your home, we require that they meet our dog prior to adoption. Apply to adopt: https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/HAUS/Dog
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Bug, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
