Mochi is a great example of why people love Goldendoodles. After all, they're cute as can be, often have very sweet personalities, are super-intelligent, and their gorgeous curly or wavy coats are often hypoallergenic (perfect for those with allergy concerns). Mochi's breed mix is the opinion of Texas veterinarians. Farfel's doesn't do DNA testing and therefore can't swear to this mix. All we know for certain is that this guy is irresistible! The combination of the Golden Retriever and Poodle is very diverse. They're best known for their sunny personalities and (often) non-shedding coats. Their playful personalities and intelligence allows them to excel at obedience training. A Goldendoodles greatest joy is being around their humans and are well known to be excellent with older children.Young Doodles do have energy so wouldn't be appropriate for very young kids or those who aren't active. Outdoor activities such as hiking, running or backyard play would be perfect for Mochi and his family. At just about 2+ years old (such a great age..young enough to have many, many active and healthy years ahead and old enough to be beyond babyish behaviors) and 60 lbs, Mochi is a great size to accompany his family on hikes along the stunning Colorado trails and other fun outdoor adventures. Mochi, once comfortable in his surroundings, is very positive (wagging his tail like a helicopter!) and curious to learn about the world. He is a loyal and loving guy who bonds hard and falls in love easily with those that are kind and loving. Mochi has a spirit about him that caught the attention of a compassionate Texas rescuer. She saved him from possible euthanasia at a scary high-kill shelter due to lack of space and fell in love with his sweetness and kind nature. She knew that Mochi would be a natural companion for an active, dog-crazy Colorado family. Farfel's Rescue feels that Mochi would be a wonderful best friend for active dog-crazy retirees or a younger family that enjoys including a fuzzy guy in their activities. Mochi would be overjoyed with the time spent and togetherness becoming a loyal best friend and a very important member of the family. Mochi will also thrive with a younger family with dog-loving older kids who enjoy fun activities with their dog. They would be able to participate in positive reinforcement group training classes to teach Mochi the skills to accompany his family out in the community with excellent behavior. Farfel's will provide a list of approved positive reinforcement / force free trainers in your area. Mochi can be relied on, once confident in his surroundings, to share his love and best behavior with his humans. He is a devoted best friend who wants nothing more than to share time, play and learning new skills with a kind and committed family. We feel that a full-time workday for his family won't work for Mochi. He thrives on family-time and being at home while his people work full-time outside of the home isn't in the best interest of this devoted companion.. Mochi will be in-sync with a family that includes him in dog-friendly adventures like backyard fun, exploring the Colorado mountains or window shopping on Pearl Street to learn urban skills. A walk around the neighborhood socializing with neighbors would be an excellent way for this people-friendly pup to fine-tune his social as well as leash skills. Mochi has a stunning coat with the classic scruffiness that represents both breeds in his mix. He will therefore require a lifelong commitment to periodic baths/brushing and great nutrition (5 star food and a daily salmon oil supplement are recommended for general longevity and coat care). With this regimen his coat will always be cottony- soft, matt-free and shining with excellent health. Mochi has been fully vetted, vaccinated and neutered to be in line with Farfel's commitment to only adopting out healthy dogs that won't contribute to the overpopulation problem in the canine population. Mochi will be arriving on transport in Boulder on Wednesday 10/1/2025. Applications are currently being accepted for this sweet, silly and absolutely wonderful best friend. Adoption apps can be found at http://farfels.com/farfels-res. cue/adoption-form/. If interested, please fill out completely and submit. **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting Mochi please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application found at the link above or at farfels.com. Adoption site applications such as Petfinder and Adoptapet don't provide enough information and therefore aren't useful. Our Farfel's application is the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving puppy. We're sorry, but in most cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit our Farfel's Rescue adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue.
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Mochi, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
