My borough breaker writes: No reaction to other dogs out on their walks, even if they were barking or trying to approach. Accepted pets from other people without jumping on them. Surprisingly ignored the squirrels. Too distracted by passing traffic to chill on benches on 5th ave, but happy to chill in the park where just people were walking by. Not startled by sudden loud noises (fire truck, honking cars, smoothie blender). Walked on a pretty loose leash most of our walk, never approached anyone else.Meet Baby Orca!A bouncy, people-loving 1-year-old who came in as a good-natured stray. She warms up fast, sticks close on walks, and thinks everyone is a friend. My Ideal HomeAn active, positive-reinforcement home that enjoys training, enrichment, and daily exercise. She thrives with structure, decompression, and clear, consistent cues.Good with Kids?Recommended no very young children (under 5) for now due to jumpy greetings and puppy-style enthusiasm. Dog-savvy older kids could be a match with guidance.Good with Other Pets?Dog history unknown. In shelter she's been non-reactive on walks and focused on her people. Use slow, structured introductions and skip dog parks while she's learning. Cats: unknown.Leash MannersPulls hard exiting the building, then settles into a loose leash outside. Social and eager to check in; responds to treats and praise. Great candidate for "engage/disengage," pattern games, and "four on the floor" for polite greetings.Overall HealthUp to date on core vaccines, heartworm negative. Treated for CIRDC (kennel cough)-doing well with doxycycline (course extended a few days). Mild otitis externa treated with ear cleaning. Current weight ~46 lbs. She is not yet spayed; surgery is scheduled for 9/30/25 (subject to medical clearance).Behavior DeterminationLevel 2 (no young kids) - Moderately social, affectionate, food-motivated, with typical young-dog hyperarousal. Training focus: impulse control (sit/stay, leave-it), calm greetings, and settling skills.BoroughBreak & Volunteer NotesWalked beautifully with minimal pulling, unfazed by dogs/birds/loud noises, and showered her people with kisses. Playful (tug & hide-and-seek), affectionate, and a sweet "velcro" companion once she bonds.Fun FactsTreat gremlin, cuddle bug, and a quick study. If you're looking for a cheerful adventure buddy who'll also snuggle on the couch, Baby Orca is your girl! Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: White Weight: 46 Age: 1yrs 0mths 2wks
