My story

Meeting Lucy is just about the coolest thing you`ll ever do! This sweet senior lady is looking for a home to call her own, and she`s hoping that home is yours. Lucy has such a sweet nature, and she`s an expert at snuggling up for some couch time. Lucy loves being around her people, so if you`re looking for a replacement for your shadow, Lucy`s got 9 years of experience! Lucy is an all-around lovebug, so a home where she can spend her days cozied up to her people or enjoying the nice weather is the kind of home we think would be best for her. Loud noises can be quite scary for dogs and people alike, and Lucy is said to be especially fearful of fireworks and loud thunderstorms. She seems to handle these better when she`s got a comfort person there to help soothe her through the noise while offering reassurance in a soft-spoken voice. Lucy is a pretty laid-back gal, so if you’ve got a dog at home, we recommend a dog-to-dog be done here at the shelter to ensure they are a good fit for each other. Lucy is truly the best dog, and we just know she’s going to make someone VERY happy! If Lucy sounds like the dog of your dreams, then stop by the shelter and come meet her today! This pet is eligible for an Adoption Audition! What is an Adoption Audition? It’s a 5-day, no-strings-attached, trial adoption period. You can take this pet home to try it out! Interested? Come to the shelter any time during open hours and talk to one of our Customer Care staff!Be sure to check the `shelter information` box on the listing to see if the pet is located at our Fairfax Campus (4500 West Ox Road, Fairfax) or our Lorton Campus (8875 Lorton Road, Lorton). Then, come in during our open hours!
