My story

Hi, I’m Sadie! I’m a Dachshund mix weighing about 20 lbs and will be 5 years old in the spring. I am very affectionate and love to snuggle. I am easy to take care of, I love to sleep in, and I don’t bark. I only need a few walks a day to take care of business and smell the outdoors. All my shots are current, I’m spayed and I’m house-trained. I’m loyal and also protective of my owner, which sometimes makes me growl at other dogs that I don’t know, so it’s best to keep me at a distance from them. I can also be a little shy around strangers, and I like the chance to warm up to them first. My current owner is getting up in years and can’t take me for walks anymore, so I’m starting to put on some weight. I would benefit from a younger owner who can take me for longer walks. I'm used to being the only dog in the house and, although I get along okay with most other dogs, I really want to be your one-and-only. I think a fenced yard would also be good for me. Sadie is good with adults and older/considerate/gentle kids; good in the car; likes to be in your lap; affectionate; obedient and eager to please; intelligent; even-tempered and gentle.
