My story

Yaira is a beautiful Great Pyrenees with a soft heart and a survivor’s spirit. Her early life was tough—she lived outdoors with another dog, and when her companion tragically passed from heatstroke, her owners realized they couldn’t give her the life she deserved. They surrendered her to safety, and now she’s learning, day by day, what it means to be loved, protected, and cared for. Because of her rough beginning, Yaira is still figuring out who she can trust. She’s working through some resource guarding and learning that people and their intentions can be safe and gentle. But underneath that caution is a dog who wants to bond. She’s slowly blooming—leaning into affection, seeking comfort, and letting her true personality show a little more every week. Yaira would do best in a calm, predictable home where she can relax into a steady routine and know exactly what to expect. She does well with other dogs who respect her space, but she would also thrive as the queen bee—your one and only fluffy monarch. With patience, kindness, and structure, she will reward her person with loyalty, quiet companionship, and the soft, sweet love that Great Pyrenees are known for.
