My story

I’m Gemstone a 2 1/2 year old 47 pound mixed breed cutie and I have been at the shelter for 10 months, so please come and check me out. I have a compact body, short hair, engaging eyes and I am ready to be rescued. I am a smart, playful, happy puppy who enjoys being outside. I love playing fetch, cuddling, getting rubs, and my smile will light up your heart. I walk pretty well on a leash and am looking to form a love connection with a friendly family of my very own. Everyday I wear my best smile waiting for someone to fall in love with me!I was a diamond in the rough when I arrived at the shelter just before New Year’s day as a stray. I don`t remember much about where I lived but I do remember being scared trying to figure out life and staying clear of the cars, coyotes, and finding food. I have had months to decompress at the shelter and I am discovering the little goofball that lives inside me. I enjoy shadowing the shelter volunteers and I would do best in a patient home that understands my need to go at my own pace. With slow movements and a gentle, soft voice, you’ll see me relax and step into my joy. I would do really well in a quieter home where my humans are consistent and predictable. If you have a mellow dog at home that could be a good guide and life buddy for me, bring them along for our `meet and greet`.
