My story
Waka (Maori for Crew) was rescued in Whangarei, New Zealand. We brought her back to the USA after a change of plans. She lived with our Mother since 2016 and is a wonderful dog. Unfortunately, our Mother is in assisted living so Waka came to live with us and our Chihuahua/poodle mix who is very possessive and has rejected Waka. They have gotten into several fights, which is not uncommon for our Chihuahua/poodle and after separating them for a week Waka was thriving again. It’s clear that Waka is not happy and doesn’t feel safe here but she could thrive in another home. She is a bit timid which may have contributed to her stress. Her breed is unknown and we believe she is 11, can go on long walks and is healthy and loves to play. We are leaving the country in a few weeks and can not take both dog so need to rehome Waka.
