Hoju (in foster)

My story

Meet Hoju, a fairly large 5-year-old boy with a good sense of his boundaries. He has always lived indoors but likes to go outside in a supervised way occasionally. He came to the shelter as a surrender when his family had to move and was unable to take him; so, he`s looking to land in a nice secure situation. His previous family reported that he is an independent, yet still interactive cat, and that he loves chasing little toys. Because he`s a bit shy, a quiet household without kids or pets would be his preference (though he has lived with a toddler in the past and did fine). He was not into the hustle and bustle of shelter life, so staff moved him into a foster home. He is much more at ease in a home environment and slowly but surely is coming out of his shell. Here is what the foster has to say about him: `Hoju is a nervous boy who warms up quickly to new people (treats can help speed up this process!), and once he is comfortable, he will be your best friend. He`s very chatty, especially around breakfast and dinner, and wherever you go he will follow you, rubbing and headbutting against your legs and meowing. He likes sitting next to you on the couch and sometimes cuddling in your lap. He`s a funny cat with some playful quirks, like chasing his own tail or jumping at the wall. He`s very good and rarely jumps on counters or tables, has never knocked anything over.`If you`d like to meet Hoju, we can arrange that for you. Contact the shelter Tue-Sun 11-5.
