My story

Tank absolutely lives up to his name—at a whopping 93 pounds, he’s a big boy with an even bigger heart. This gentle giant is all about affection and has zero shame when it comes to asking for it. You’ll often find Tank hopping up onto a bench next to our volunteers just so he can be closer and cover them in kisses. He is a happy-go-lucky boy who will happily meet everyone that welcomes him. Because of his size and strength, Tank will need a confident, strong handler who can manage a large dog—but his intentions are nothing but loving. He came to the shelter due to a very unfortunate life change, not because of anything he did wrong. Tank grew up around young children who adored him, and he loved them right back, showing just how sweet and trustworthy he can be.Tank enjoys playing with toys, going for walks, and spending time with his people. He also has a chicken and lamb allergy, so he’ll need to stay on a diet that works for him—he’s currently doing well on turkey-based kibble.If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate companion who thinks he’s a lap dog despite his size, Tank might just be your perfect match. He’s ready to bring a whole lot of love (and kisses) into his next home.
