My story

Grizz is a 59-pound shepherd mix who recently arrived at the shelter after the an unfortunate life change with his family. He’s brand new to this environment and still a bit unsure about what’s happening around him—but even through the nerves, his loving heart shines loud and clear.Grizz’s previous owner described him as a true velcro dog, and that couldn’t be more accurate. He thrives when he’s with his people and will happily follow you from room to room, just wanting to be close. Affection and companionship mean everything to him, and once he feels safe, he’s incredibly sweet and devoted.He enjoys playing with toys and will likely do best with an active, confident handler who can manage a medium-large, strong dog. Grizz grew up around children and loved them dearly, showing that he’s not just affectionate, but gentle and family-oriented too.Grizz does have a chicken and lamb allergy and is currently doing well on a turkey-based kibble, which will be important for his future home to continue.If you’re looking for a loyal shadow, a loving companion, and a dog who just wants to be by your side, Grizz may be the perfect addition to your home.
