My story

Meet Xena!Xena is a 3-year-old, 55-pound social and energetic lady who is ready to find her forever home. She originally came to us from a shelter in New Mexico and has been patiently waiting since 1/28/2026 for a family who can match her active lifestyle. Xena loves attention and affection, and she already knows commands like sit and touch, making her a fun and trainable companion.Xena is best suited for an active household where she can enjoy long walks, hiking, dog sports, and plenty of playtime. Because of her size and spirited personality, we recommend no young children, and any kids in the home should meet her prior to adoption. She enjoys playgroups here at the shelter with dogs her size or larger, and adopters should plan a meet-and-greet with any resident dogs to ensure a good fit.Xena is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations and preventatives—ready to start the next chapter of her life.
